2.1.1 Servervirtualisatie

• Functie: Draait meerdere virtuele machines op één fysieke server voor efficiënt resourcegebruik.

2.1.2 Containerorkestratie

• Functie: Beheert en schaalt containers voor hoge beschikbaarheid en efficiëntie.
• SBB (IST): Grapeup Cloudboostr Kubernetes, Docker, Podman
• SBB (SOLL): Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform, Podman (binnen OpenShift)

2.1.3 Traditioneel besturingssysteembeheer

• Functie: Beheert updates, configuraties en patches voor Windows/Linux omgevingen.
• SBB (IST): WSUS, SCCM, Satellite, AAP, VRA
• SBB (SOLL): Satellite + AAP + WSUS, Arc? (TBD)

2.1.4 Containerbesturingssysteembeheer

• Functie: Beheert gecontaineriseerde besturingssystemen.
• SBB (IST): Terraform
• SBB (SOLL): OpenShift Update Service (OSUS)

2.1.5 Baremetal-provisioning

• Functie: Automatiseert installatie en configuratie van fysieke servers.
• SBB (IST): PXE, Satellite (foreman)
• SBB (SOLL): Baremetal provisioning in OpenShift (Metal3/Ironic), Tinkerbell/MAAS/foreman? (optioneel)

2.1.6 Hardware Detectie

• Functie: Identificeert automatisch hardwarekenmerken (zoals CPU, GPU, NIC's) van cluster nodes en maakt deze beschikbaar voor operators, bijv. voor GPU-toewijzing of driverbeheer.

2.1.7 Container-node-provisioning

• Functie: Automatiseert de installatie van nodes voor containerplatforms.

2.1.8 Applicatie servers

• Functie: Host en draait web- of applicatiediensten voor bedrijfsapplicaties.
• SBB (IST): Apache, Spring, NGINX, TomCat
• SBB (SOLL): Containergebaseerde oplossingen (bijv. Red Hat Runtimes)?

2.1.9 High-Performance Accelerated Computing (HPC)

• Functie: Biedt krachtige rekenkracht (GPU/CPU) voor intensieve workloads (AI, simulatie).
• SBB (IST): DGX, VCF nodes met GPU's
• SBB (SOLL): NVIDIA/AMD/Intel GPU Operator, GPU Drivers, DGX

2.1.10 Edge Computing

• Functie: Voert data- en rekenverwerking uit aan de rand van het netwerk.
• SBB (IST): Azure Synapse, Broadcom VCF
• SBB (SOLL): Single Node OpenShift, Remote Worker Nodes, MicroShift

2.1.11 Windows servers

• Functie: Biedt een beheerd platform voor Windows-serverworkloads met OS-lifecycle/patching, rol- en featurebeheer (AD/IIS/File/Print), beveiliging en monitoring.

2.1.12 Linux servers

• Functie: Biedt een beheerd platform voor Linux-serverworkloads (VM/bare-metal) met OS-lifecycle/patching, pakket-/servicebeheer, beveiliging (SELinux) en monitoring voor o.a. web, applicaties en databases.
